Licensed Massage Therapist

Bowling Green Powerhouse is seeking a skilled Licensed Massage Therapist to provide exercise-related bodywork services to gym members and the local community. This therapist will work alongside Primal Performance Training, which works within BGPH with athletes and fitness enthusiasts using holistic training methods to educate clients on the multi-dimensional aspects of health and performance. We combine muscle training, nervous system principles, nutrition, and bodywork into a holistic intervention or training program to resolve pain and improve performance in life and/or sport. We use massage therapy in conjunction with movement coaching principles to achieve long-term results for our clients. The ideal team member will be passionate about learning beyond traditional schooling, thirsty for knowledge, and enthralled with the complex challenges each client brings to the table. We are not a spa or flashy fitness center. We are a rugged, open-concept training facility dedicated to finding the best ways possible to facilitate personal growth and empowerment.

Start Date: July 2024

Details:

  • Minimum of 3 hours per week to start. 10+ hours preferred once client base is developed

  • This position will start with a 50%/50% split pay structure. The therapist will have flexibility to choose rates for services

Responsibilities:

  • Perform massage therapy services tailored to athletes or active populations, or helping clients to resolve movement-related pains

  • Provide own massage sheets, lotions, music/sound system

  • Maintain a safe and clean massage area and equipment

  • Maintain detailed and timely SOAP notes

  • Uphold the utmost professionalism, safety, and benevolence when working with clients

  • Maintain licensure and complete Continuing Education requirements as required by the state of Kentucky

Requirements:

  • Current Licensure to practice massage in the state of Kentucky, in good standing

  • Clear background check

  • Interest in learning new methods for sports massage therapy inside and outside of the massage room

  • Desire for growth, education, and professional development

  • Social skills that contribute to a welcoming and enriching environment for clients

  • Interest in educational mentoring/brainstorming with head coaches and lead therapists

  • Willingness to share a room with the lead therapist and work cooperatively on scheduling

Desired:

  • At least 1 year of experience with athletes, active populations, or similar

  • Personal Training or Coaching experience
